The main application is called HylaFAX and it's an enterprise-class system for sending and receiving facsimiles as well as for sending alphanumeric pages. The software is designed to work in a network environment. Fax modems can be attached to a single machine on a network and clients can submit an outbound job from another computer on the network with related client software, which is lightweight and easy to run. HylaFAX is very robust and reliable. The fax server is designed to guard against unexpected issues related to the software, hardware or actual transmissions. The application was also built to give users confidence- it uses an intelligent scheduling for sending and optimizing retry attempts. Jobs are either completed successfully or the submitter is notified of what happened. HylaFAX supports multiple lines and various traffic loads, so it can cover the needs of different sized networks. The centralized environment provides an important benefit relative to using individual fax machines, namely the electronic archival of all incoming and outgoing fax communications, for later reference and linking to other records of client- or case- related data.
